Ooh, I love this.

Why are you not writing a book about spinning?

Thank you for a most excellent tutorial. I have a Louet Jr. which has no feed tray and just a 4" drum, but I'm learning, and stuff like this helps so much.

I second Jessie's query...Book, book, book about spinning? You're a most excellent writer and a skilled spinner. And I am *always* disappointed when I go looking for books on spinning as they are few and I own almost all of them (a slim stack indeed.)

I'll help coordinate your tour schedule!

What a great post, Maia! I really like how you gave examples of the different yarn that results from using a different spinning technique with the same batt - very helpful.

It's nice to have a technique for creating a custom yarn color that doesn't involve dragging out all the dye pots. I don't mind dyeing but it's not always convenient, especially since I have to use my kitchen.

Sooo very Very cool! I love seeing the knitted swatches, makes it that much clearer.

I third that motion, a book would definately be a good thing. Thanks for the awesome pics! I really need to get a drum carder soon, what brands would you recommend?

Excellent post. Those batts are mouth-watering, too.

Thank you for sharing how you made the batts and all the different ways you spun them. The color of that batt is gorgeous!!

Gorgeous colour!

This is a great post Maia. Your blends are always so nice. Did you every finish Roger's vest? That blend and the yarn you spun from it are on my all time favorites list. :)

Congrats on making Yarnival! I'm renting my guild's carder this week and I can't wait to make some batts! I will definitely be referring to your "recipe." Thanks!

Oooo, fantastic! It makes me lust after a carder even more now :-)
