Thank you, Maia! How fitting that I get to be the first person to comment on this. I'm glad you're enjoying the yarn despite the high mohair content. The next yarn I have made will be only about 20 percent mohair (and 20 percent alpaca--yum) to go with the wool.

You didn't say: Did your roving sample arrive?

No clue on a new name but the cable is lovely!

Any ETA on the banana leaf socks? :)

Wow, that's a lovely stitch pattern. It might require a lot of thinking, but if I were making this sock I would find a way to split up the larger "trunks" and cable them over to where you need 'em for the ribbing. So basically the entire motif would stop twisting back on itself, and morph into ribbing.

Now I want to steal this idea! I don't mean to be evil, it just happens!

How fun to be a fly on the wall during your design process. I agree that the leaves are probably a bit much. Would a picot edging suggest leaves, I wonder? Or would a knitted-in leafy lace pattern at the top work? As far as the name, I can't think of anything more imaginative than what you came up with!

Beautiful stitch pattern. It's too bad about the rolling. That happens to me too :)

if you have the book 'knitting on the edge' by nicky epstein, there are some other leaf-like knitted edgings. some are leaves in relief on a purl background, and some are individual leaves--there is even a garter one, that might not roll...just a thought. i love the cabled stitch pattern.

Maybe there are some other leaf patterns you could try that won't curl so much. I know I have seen a few. Check out the leaf and tendril sock in the Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles by Cat Bordhi. Good Luck! You're a genious:)
